At WRSU, we play a wide range of music and have a great assortment of shows featuring student, alumni, and community member DJs. Our Music department is responsible for reviewing all new music submissions weekly and getting them out to our DJs to ensure we have the best selection of new music anywhere! We also oversee DJ playlists, maintenance of WRSU's massive music library, and live music setup and planning at the station. If you love all things music, the Music Department is for you!

WRSU boasts the most enthusiastic sports analysts at Rutgers University. Our sports staff cover multiple Scarlet Knights teams in-depth. Staff members have the opportunity to go on the road with teams in order to cover certain games as well. Our News Department is very involved and up-to-date with the daily news every night at 10:00 PM. Aspiring journalists can get a head start by working on-air and behind-the-scenes with WRSU's news team. Get on the air and get real news experience by covering local and national stories with a distinct focus on what's happening around Rutgers.

WRSU has its own promotions department which mainly coordinates station events, imaging, advertising, and publicity. The Promotions department is also responsible for several of the events hosted by WRSU, including most recently our 60th Alumni Dinner. Being part of the Promotions Department will give you a first-hand opportunity to experience the public relations aspect as well as the marketing and the world of advertising! WRSU's Production Department creates pre-recorded sound clips that are broadcast on the air.  If you are interested in learning about how to produce Public Service Announcements, underwriting, or station imaging spots, this department is for you! Being part of the Production Department can also give you experience doing audio-editing and voiceovers. The Production Department fosters a great learning environment - new-comers are encouraged to join and work alongside our seasoned students on technical aspects of production.

Maintaining radio station equipment is a fun and challenging task for staff of this department. If you like to mess around with professional gear, contact our Chief Engineer today for the next meeting.

The management of WRSU's roughly 100 on-air staff members is a busy job that comes with a lot of responsibility. People who are interested in working with on-air staff, including show scheduling and related issues should contact the Program Director. The Programming Department is in charge of handling the scheduling of different shows, DJs, on-air staff and material. Keeping in touch with the community we serve is an important job at WRSU. Focus lies mainly on community events by working with Promotions and other departments. Community Affairs also serves as the WRSU spokesperson to the media. For more information contact the Community Affairs manager.

WRSU-FM is a non-commercial, non-profit radio station, however just like any other business, it costs us money to operate! As a fully functional 24-hour radio station, equipment, facilities, and various other maintenance and upgrade costs need to be covered.
