Come see WRSU at “Rock New Brunswick” in Boyd Park on Sunday, Sept. 10!

WRSU will be broadcasting live from Boyd Park from in New Brunswick from 4-5 pm this Sunday afternoon, September 10th, as more than a half-dozen bands perform on stage as part of the New Brunswick Arts concert series.  Join Frank Bridges, the host of our local music show “Overnight Sensations,” as he features local artists and interviews some of those playing the Boyd Park stage.  We’ll have WRSU giveaways, and there will be food trucks and much more at this free event, which is open to the public.  Rock New Brunswick runs from noon to 6 pm.  See the flyer below for more details!

WRSU at Governors Ball 2017

Rutgers University’s 251st Commencement

Rutgers University celebrated its graduates at the school’s 251st commencement on Sunday, May 14, 2017.  The keynote speaker was Steven Van Zandt of Bruce Springsteen’s E Street Band and The Sopranos.  Coverage was hosted by Dom Savino, Ryan Berger, and Lauren Forsman.  Pre-commencement coverage included a memory montage from WRSU seniors, as well as an interview with author, WRSU Alum, and Professor Mark Beal, discussing his new book, “101 Lessons They Never Taught You In College.”  Plus, interviews with Jason Gaines and Yauris Hernandez, “future scholars” from New Brunswick who were among the more than eleven thousand graduates upon whom degrees were conferred at High Point Solutions Stadium.

On Rutgers Day 2017, WRSU brought you live inside the College Avenue Gym, affectionately known as “The Barn,” for the court dedication in honor of Jim Valvano.  Find the audio to listen to that broadcast below, as well as the 1967 NIT Quarterfinal win over New Mexico from Madison Square Garden, the Mecca of College Basketball, and an interview with Lee Ginsberg, one of the two WRSU student announcers who broadcast every game of that magical 1966-67 season.
